Candy tax unfair, try saving instead

In feedback to The Herald front page article on Tuesday, “Can you snow under a candy tax?”: The answer is a resounding no . The people of this stage are taxed enough. The economy is in no condition to have any added taxation weighing down a in abeyance recovery.

The state leaders must take guilt for the three founding responsibilities: public refuge, public education, and providing an money-making environment for the private sector to broaden goods and services. The state control needs to get out of many private sector businesses. In one of Barbara Bailey’s commentaries published by The Herald, she listed a reckon of these business ventures that should be turned back over to sequestered enterprises, such as the insurance business and white lightning sales.

No tax is really fair, specifically the proposed candy tax. More people are discovery that they are intolerant to gluten (protein found in wheat). These people insist a gluten-free diet and have enough restrictions

Only few left without power Friday afternoon

The northern half of Arkansas caught its allotment of winter weather Friday as a mix of ice, sleet and snow hew down throughout the area. Despite the inclement conditions, which prompted Gov. Mike Beebe to affirm a state of emergency, minimal live through-related incidents were reported in Pope County as of up-to-date Friday afternoon.
Bruce Tucker, a spokesperson for Entergy, said only two residents in Pope County were without power, which he attributed to a blown transformer hairbreadth Moreland. Yell County, however, suffered three outages Friday, leaving 83 without power, mostly in the Briggsville and Ola areas.
As of 9 a.m. Friday morning, Entergy had 200 linemen and 60 additional tree trimmers on standby but later, in rejoinder to the lack of outages, decreased the slew to 100 and 30, respectively.
