99 Honda Prelude 18 X 7.5 rims: what size and brand tires?
Hello,
I precisely bought a set (4) of 18x7.5 verde black ice rims online and i am inasmuch as the following set of tires to buy with it. First what size should i pick 225/40/18 or 215/40/18? I keep getting conflicting responses on this, I have also heard the 225 will be better because it is wider, but will it suspend over the rim?
Here are the brands i am considering for a summer UHP set of tires:
1. General Exclaim UHP
2. BFGoodrich g-Dragoon T/A KDW2
3. BFGoodrich g-Force Sport
4. Kumho SPT
5. Fuzion ZRi

p.s. anyone have episode buying from tirerack.com?
You could extraordinarily be fine with either tire width, the difference is 5mm, less than 1/4". The exhibition differences (handling from track width) would be slim to none...if you were comparing 214 to 245, then it's a another story. It is possible that you might get some tire overhang, but it you're okay with it, get the 225's. I have 18x8 rims and I use 225/40/18, and the sidewall is dulcet flat.
As for the tires, the list you composed looks good to me... diversified makes great summer tires.
I have not bought from tirerack personally (was successful to, but bought my rims at a store) but I know people who have and they have no complaints. One word of recommendation, since you already bought rims from a different place, you might want to see the prices of local annoy shops. If you buy the tires a tirerack, you have to pay for mounting...it might come out to be cheaper still... no more than look around!!
Hope this helps
