Changing shifter boot on a 5 speed 1990 Ford Ranger?
I upright bought the truck and I absolutely hate the shifter boot. Does anyone know the mould well enough to tell me how, or if it's possible to change the shifter boot? What about the stick itself? Can I change that? and what can I replace it with? I haven't found any Ranger delineated shifters or boots, which has me wondering. Thanks
Most cut the rod close to the transmission and weld something up or custom lathe the shaft off the transmission for something special. But try places like the ranger place (a website) for possible ideas I'm guessing
The boot comes off by removing 4 screws in the destroy (hidden by the boot) and by removing the knob (easier said than done)
Shifter comes off by fall nut flipping one 180 and screwing in to remove pin
