2005 Dodge Ram 1500 HEMI Maintenance?
I am 17 and hardly purchased my first vehicle. It is an 05' but only had 33,000 miles on it. I really want to take love of the truck and try to make it last for a long time before any huge repairs are needed. The dealership changed the oil for unrestricted, but thats it. Im thinking about changing the oil again tommorrow and put "good" nobility oil in it.
I really want to know what fluids the truck takes and what brand is the first-class? Such as:
Brake Fluid
Engine Oil 5.7 HEMI (manual says 5w-20, but I pauperism to know whats the best brand)
Oil Filter
Power Steering Flexible
Coolant
Transmission fluid (automatic)
and Air Filter, should I go cold air intake?
Thanks, I separate that is alot to answer, but the manual really dosent say much and google didnt nick lol. Seriously thanks for the help
Ok as for check fluid I wouldn't worry about it. Engine oil is a different story. The reason that they cite 5w-20 is for the 5.7L MDS system. If you use a heavy grade of oil your engine will start ticking and making all sorts of gyp. I have seen this a hundred times by people thinking they know more than the engineers that spent seven years conniving the thing. As for coolant you wont have to change it for 100,000 miles or five years. Trans unformed only use mopar ATF+4. This is what is specified by chrysler and I recommend it. You can't go wrong with what the manufacturer recommends. Tip that years of research and development went into your vehicle and that they did not print those recommendations because they like to misuse ink and paper. The oil that the dealership put in is fine. Just be sure to change it at the appropriate usage interval stated in your manual and you will be just fine.
