SALISBURY: SU to host Chesapeake Bay symposium

Ths symposium will be held from 9:30 a.m.-6 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 13, in
Devilbiss Foyer Auditorium.
Participants include:
● Costly Batiuk, associate director for area at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's Chesapeake Bay Program Firm;
● Don Boesch, president of the University of Maryland Center for Environmental Art (UMCES);
● Bill Boicourt, UMCES Horn Quiddity Laboratory professor;
● Walter Boynton, UMCES Chesapeake Biological Laboratory professor;
● Denise Breitburg, Smithsonian Environmental Enquire Center senior scientist;
● Ed Houde, UMCES Chesapeake Biological Laboratory professor;
● Mike Kemp, UMCES Horn Pertinent Laboratory professor; and
● Bob Orth, Virginia Begin of Marine Science professor.

In back year, Buy Local gains grip GARY HUFFENBERGER Staff Novelist The Wilmington Donatos franchise colleague has been negotiating with the Columbus-based pizza succession, proposing to use locally grown rations produce at the Rombach Avenue eatery. Last week, house headquarters agreed to the idea so dream of as the produce meets its standards. The proposition was spurred by Wilmington Donatos franchise buddy Doug DeVilbiss’ participation in the Buy District First movement in Clinton County, now entering its favour year.
Like DeVilbiss, Swindler & Sons Florist co-proprietress Phil Swindler is a member of the Buy Particular First steering committee. The local winter farmers furnish is housed at the West Locust High road florist business, and Swindler said he’s gotten to grasp four or five of the market’s local producers and as a denouement connections have been made on upcoming spring projects.
This week organizers held a Buy District First meeting to recap the past year of the operations and discuss the direction and vision for the tomorrow's. Swindler and DeVilbiss agree it was a good start to keep dollars circulating within the neighbouring community rather than having money forbear an already distressed local economy.

Led by a quartet of undefeated competitors, the South Winn wrestling get placed third at the Riceville Duals Saturday.
Lars Warth (119), Genre 1A No. 6 Jayden
DeVilbiss (171), No. 3 Matthew Schmelzer (189) and Run off Schmelzer (285) each recorded victories in all of their matches, while M. Schmelzer rough draft all three of his wins by pin. Team standings were not readily obtainable.
