KEEP it under your hat, but I’m well-spring to think my wife is a bit of a leadfoot.
That’s because every point I get behind the wheel after she has been driving, the fuel conservation reading has shot up.
I should add that she’s mainly a very good driver, but she just needs to prevent off the throttle to keep her fuel consumption down.
It’s a pack of slow and steady wins the compete with, because if you speed up and slow down a lot then you’re prevailing to pay a penalty.
A light foot and a stout speed is not only going to save nutrition, but your passengers will also find it more pleasant.
In the case of the all-new Sorento, the chain has been getting about 9.3 litres/100km out of the diesel.
But, teamed with the new six-scramble automatic, she should be getting more like 7.4 litres/100km which is the solemn rating.
The new Sorento really is an awe-inspiring vehicle both in terms of looks and about and for our money marks the coming of age for this epitome.

2010 Detroit Auto Show: New Engines for 2010 Hyundai Santa Fe
17.01.10
This is one we're example on posting, but it's significant nonetheless. During the 2010 Detroit Auto Show, Hyundai released details of direction updates to its 2010 Hyundai Santa Fe midsize crossover utility conduit--which is on sale, basically, now.
The big news is that Hyundai has replaced both engines in the formerly all-V-6 Santa Fe, swapping the insufferable V-6 for a four, along with some minor styling and equipment changes. This continues a series of locomotive changes that started last month at the Los Angeles Auto Show, when Hyundai said it would advance only fours in its redesigned 2011 Hyundai Sonata midsize sedan.
The 2010 Santa Fe retains one V-6, a 276-horsepower Lambda II with 34 hp more than the early previously to 3.3-liter model. It's a heavier carrier with a higher tow rating--3,500 pounds--than the Sonata sedan, so V-6 grunt is voluntary for those buyers who need it. That engine is rated at 20 mpg municipality, 26 mpg highway.
But the 2010 Santa Fe also adds its first four-cylinder, a 175-horsepower 2.4-liter Theta II apparatus that outperforms the previous base 2.7-liter V-6 not on only nourish economy (at 20 mpg city, 28 mpg highway, versus 18/24) but also on acceleration.
Like other automakers, Hyundai knows that heavier and more stalwart cars get worse gas mileage--and that replacing a idle V-6 with an efficient high-output four saves authority as well as gasoline.
All 2010 Santa Fe models volunteer a six-speed overdrive automatic transfer, though the base gearbox on the four-cylinder is a six-go like a shot manual. All-wheel-drive is nearby with both engines.
The base four-cylinder fine fettle level is the GLS, which offers 17-inch moderate wheels, USB/iPod inputs, power accessories and keyless entrance as standard, along with safety features like ABS and strength control.
The V-6 model is the closely consanguineous SE, which starts with the GLS equipment and adds benchmark six-speed automatic and 18-inch compound wheels on top.
If you're going for full luxe, the apex-end Limited option adds chrome door handles, leather accommodation, heated front seats, dual-zone mood control and a standard power sunroof. The voluntary navigation package adds a 6.5-inch touchscreen system to the mix.
