Say 'I love you' with … bacon?
28.01.10
Even-handed before the new year, the folks at the Wine and Cheese Put out declared that 2010 would be the Year of Bacon. They’re stocking their Clayton, Ruined Hill and Ballwin shops with diverse small-batch bacons every few weeks. It’s been a remunerative program so far, with employees reporting chill sales of the first few selections — from Iowa’s Vande Rose Farms and Kentucky’s Scott Hams .
But now they’ve infatuated the bacon idea to the extreme. So much, in items, that they may have to rename the store the Wine, Cheese and Bacon Post.
The newsletter that popped into our inbox this morning says the depend on is now carrying the following porky items: bacon-flavored vodka, bacon chocolate, bacon air fresheners, gummy bacon confectionery, bacon soap, bacon gumballs and bacon bandages.
What’s more, they’re present to put it all in a gift basket — starting at $70 — as a Valentine’s Day today. Because, really, what says “I leaning you” like cured pork and soap that smells like Sunday morning breakfast?
